Herbie The Love Bug Suicide Awareness Film Road Trip with Gabriel Nathan - OC87 Recovery Diaries

Herbie The Love Bug Suicide Awareness Film Road Trip with Gabriel Nathan

We hope you enjoy this OC87 Recovery Diaries-produced sneak peek at Gabe and Herbie’s East Coast road trip film! Thanks to the team at FreshFly for this lovely preview of what’s to come from this man and machine Drive Out Suicide team.

Who doesn’t love a road-trip film about two best friends meandering along America’s highways and byways in search of enlightenment, awareness, and stories? Join OC87 Recovery Diaries’ Editor in Chief Gabriel Nathan and his best four-wheeled friend, Herbie the Love Bug as they embark on an ambitious, memorable, and inspiring journey to spread suicide awareness up and down the East Coast. A Board Member of Prevent Suicide PA, Gabe’s Herbie is uniquely branded with the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK) on its rear window, and they promote suicide awareness in life and on Herbie’s IG @lovebugtrumpshate — you can follow their journey there!

Their roughly two-week odyssey will take them along some gorgeous back-roads and getting them up to speed on some of I-95, too; traveling to a variety of locations like gun shops, police stations, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient mental health providers, army barracks, colleges and universities, visiting the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s headquarters in New York. The trip will culminate in Washington DC with some grassroots suicide awareness advocacy. Along the way, Herbie and Gabe will have a variety of friends serving as co-drivers and the entire journey will be documented through Go-Pro cameras, video cameras, and cell-phones.

Using Herbie as the conversation catalyst, Gabe will record interactions with every day folk, politicians, first responders, suicide loss survivors and attempt survivors, clinicians, and everyone in between — about mental, suicide prevention, and, yes, how this special Love Bug fits in to that discussion; Gabe will also give out custom-made suicide prevention and awareness materials to all along his way. The departure and return will be documented by OC87 Recovery Diaries’ film production partner, FreshFly. For some extra fun, along the route, other Herbie the Love Bug replica owners will meet up for discussions on suicide awareness and outreach.
